Plug In Baby is a song written by Muse and included in their album Origin_of_Symmetry.
This song was the most successful song  taken from the album.
It was the lead single and , with Time is running out, remain one of most popular songs of the band.

Lyrics

I’ve exposed your lies, baby
The underneath is no big surprise
Now its time, for changing and cleansing everything
To forget your love

And my plug in baby crucifies my enemies
When I’m tired of giving, whoa
And my plug in baby, in unbroken virgin realities
Is tired of living, ooh

Don’t confuse, baby you’re gonna lose
You’re own game
Change me and place the envying
To forget your love

My plug in baby crucifies my enemies
When I’m tired of giving, whoa
My plug in baby, in unbroken virgin realities
Is tired of living

And I feel your loving, baby
And I’ve been in trouble, ooh

Plug In Baby – Muse – Meaning

The core of the interpretation of the lyrics is in the words of Matt Bellamy that explains the meaning of this song:

Again, that’s about the path evolution can take like New Born. There’s the good side and the bad side; abandoning all individuality, becoming a collective whole via cables, and genetically engineering bodies that can exist out in space, or the loss of individualism.

  I’ve exposed your lies, baby
The underneath is no big surprise
Now its time, for changing and cleansing everything
To forget your love

All the lies are known, and the fact that she is a liar, is clear to the world.

The things that he discovers, are not good.

Is clear for him, that he must start to leave her to his destiny.

The most important thing is to forget her.

And to forget that love, based on lies.

To make this he must change himself.

And my plug in baby crucifies my enemies
When I’m tired of giving, whoa
And my plug in baby, in unbroken virgin realities
Is tired of living, ooh

The lyrics of all the song are not so clear, and are open to different interpretations.

The drummer Dominic Howard says about this words:

That song’s about putting emotion into something that has no soul – like a child’s teddy bear or a computer. And also what it would be like if we could genetically engineer puppies that never grow old.

While i like to think that his Plug in Baby is his guitar, the reality is that Matt explains the words of this chorus in this way.

I think the chorus is probably referring to some kind of analogy of the touring lifestyle, of what it feels like being on stage playing or whatever it might be, but kind of saying that really, I’m prepared to pretty much sacrifice everything in my personal life for the sake of playing music.

Don’t confuse, baby you’re gonna lose
You’re own game
Change me and place the envying
To forget your love

Is easy to be confused.

When you start to overthinking about a lot of details and minutiae, all the things, start to go wrong.

Leave the things easy is a crucial step, to mantain control over your world and your life.

For a lot of people, be focused only on a big amount of details, can be an easy way to be his own saboteur.

The things that matter, are hard to do.

Is the key of success.

Doing the hard things is the hard part of every good plan.

And make this type of things, produces pains.

Be focused only on small and useless things, can satisfy yourself.

But don’t makes you move forward.

Matt says that the band were apparently under the effects of hallucinogenic mushrooms, when they recorded this song.

Conclusion

Plug in Baby is song with a beautiful guitar riff that introduce the song. It has been played at every live show from 2000. And is one of the most famous songs from Muse.
